New Go-to-Market Approach for Symantec and Carbon Black Puts Customers First

New Catalyst partner initiative arms select global partners with the latest innovative technologies, threat intelligence and in-region support to help customers successfully reduce their risk and improve their security posture

When Broadcom recently announced the company had brought together Carbon Black and Symantec under the newly formed Enterprise Security Group (ESG) business unit, Rob Greer, vice president and general manager, promised “customers will continue to receive the best service with more dedicated resources and focused support than ever before.” With the introduction of Catalyst today, we are better positioned to deliver on that promise – and so much more.

An extension of Broadcom’s innovative Accelerate Program, Catalyst is a revolutionary new global partner initiative, solely managed by elite ESG partners who lead the go-to-market and customer relationships for these two legendary brands. Inaugural Catalyst Partners include TD SYNNEX (Americas), Arrow Electronics (North, Central, and Southern Europe), MBCOM Technologies (Emerging Markets), Westcon-Comstor (Asia Pacific), and Carahsoft Technology Corp. (United States Federal Government, State, Local, and Education).

Broadcom has long invested in its partner ecosystem to ensure customers are getting the most value out of their Broadcom investments. So, what’s new with Catalyst?

Today, Broadcom customers are facing highly complex cybersecurity and regulatory challenges. By empowering select regional partners, Catalyst enables its partners to meet and support Broadcom customers wherever they are on their cybersecurity journey to successfully close their security gap, reduce their attack surface, and meet fast-changing compliance requirements. Catalyst provides customers many benefits including:

  • Access to a broader cybersecurity portfolio: Customers have unique environments and ever-changing business and regulatory requirements. By offering both Symantec and Carbon Black technologies, Catalyst enables its partners to develop better security outcomes regardless of size or complexity.
  • Enhanced user experience: By providing localized, in-region support to our customers, Catalyst partners will be able to provide unrivaled and more tailored customer experience.
  • Faster response time: To successfully counter today’s cyberthreats, speed matters. Catalyst enables technical security experts, in the customers’ local time zones, to swiftly respond to cyberattacks and customer requests.
  • Focus on innovation: By empowering its partners to provide the necessary support and care for its customers. Catalyst enables Broadcom to better leverage Broadcom’s significant engineering and R&D resources to continue to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of security solutions to protect against the latest threats.
  • Getting the most out of Broadcom solutions: Catalyst ensures customers can engage more easily and get the most out of Broadcom’s Symantec and Carbon Black solutions.

“Cybersecurity is not a single monolithic market but the amalgamation of millions of organizations, all with needs that are unique to their vertical, their location, their compliance environment, and their size of business. Catalyst enables Broadcom's Enterprise Security Group to focus on its product innovation strengths while its channel partners deliver hyperlocal sales and customer service. As some cybersecurity vendors debate the role of the channel, past success has Broadcom pushing all its chips to the center of the table; Symantec and Carbon Black are all in on the channel with Catalyst,” said Frank Dickson, Group Vice President for IDC’s Security & Trust Research.

Broadcom will continue to make significant investments in both Symantec and Carbon Black portfolios as well as the Catalyst partner initiative – and its Catalyst partners – to help secure the world’s largest and most advanced enterprises. If you are an existing customer, we invite you to contact your regional Catalyst partner to learn more about the program and how it can benefit you.
